Overview of manufacturing methods
Metal parts manufacturing is an important branch in the field of mechanical manufacturing. The purpose of the manufacturing process is to obtain parts that meet the requirements of use. It usually includes material preparation, processing, heat treatment, surface treatment and other links.
(1) Material selection
- Material properties
Metal parts have different application scenarios and use conditions, requiring materials to have different strength, hardness, wear resistance, corrosion resistance, conductivity, plasticity and other properties.
- Material selection
Material selection should be determined according to the use scenarios and requirements of the parts. Commonly used metal materials include carbon steel, alloy steel, aluminum alloy, copper alloy, stainless steel, etc. Different materials have different mechanical processing properties and heat treatment process requirements.
(2) Mechanical processing
- Processing methods
Metal parts processing methods include CNC lathe processing, CNC milling machine processing, drilling machine processing, turning processing, milling processing, grinding processing, etc.
- Processing technology
During the processing process, attention should be paid to the selection of tools, the adjustment of cutting parameters, the fixture design of the workpiece and the requirements of the processing surface quality, as well as key issues such as chip removal and coolant treatment.
(3) Heat treatment
- Purpose
Heat treatment is to adjust the structure and performance of the material to meet the use requirements of the parts. Common heat treatment methods include annealing, normalizing, quenching, tempering, etc.
- Process requirements
The heat treatment process should select different process parameters and heating and cooling methods according to different materials and parts requirements to achieve the best performance effect.
(4) Surface treatment
Surface treatment is to make the surface of parts smooth, rust-proof, anti-corrosive, and enhance hardness, etc., including metal plating, chrome plating, painting, anodizing, etc.
